My Story - Why I Founded Philanthropix Media
It started with a trip to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake - a trip that changed my life. We followed Dr. John Yates as he fought to help as many people as possible with the limited tools he had available. What we witnessed was heartbreaking yet inspiring.
Sharing meaningful stories helped me cope and try to make sense of it all. But a part of me needed to do more, and that feeling weighed on me over the years.
Cut to 2023 - I was deeply inspired while working alongside Rick Hansen and his foundation team. Something clicked, and I knew it was time to step up.
I volunteered on a hospital foundation’s marketing and communications committee and was working alongside incredibly talented people, making a difference in their communities. I knew my skills were making a meaningful contribution, so I began to steer my career in a new direction.
I got to work - I dove into research mode and connected with leaders in the philanthropic field to better understand their challenges. Time and time again, I heard the same struggles — and noticed a gap in expert solutions.
That’s when I knew I could help.
I founded Philanthropix Media to help charities, non-profits, and foundations in harness their storytelling superpowers. We build stronger connections with the media, your audience, and your community.
